The Rwandan Genocide

Introduction

Picture
In a time span of 100 days, 800,000 people were murdered, raped, and tortured. The Hutus used clubs and machetes to hack and club people to death.

The Beginning of the Genocide

The angry feelings in both racial groups came to the surface beginning with the death of Melchoir Nydaye.
The death of Juvenal Habyarimana and Burundi's new President, Cyprien Ntaryamira, caused the genocide to happen.
All three presidents played an important role in sparking the anger in both the Hutus and Tutsis.
