Picture
Rwanda and Neighboring Countries
It happened in Central Africa, but it affected neighboring countries like Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The RPF ended the genocide by forcing two million Hutus to flee there. Tutsis fled to Burundi to get away from the genocide and the killings. There was also a vote about staying or fleeing from Rwanda and they left . The attacks were everywhere like the Tutsis' homes, churches, and hospitals. These places became some of the worst massacre sites in Rwanda.
